It’s the final countdown! If you follow me on instagram, you know that I”m now officially overdue. I figured I better do a third trimester update now, before baby girl brewer makes her long awaited appearance! In case you missed it — I have my first trimester update here and my second trimester update here!

I was 28 weeks in this picture – we had a mini vacation at the end of July at the cabins at Bear River Lodge.

My third trimester started at the end of July. I knew my third trimester would fly by due to my career. Working full time in retail = a busy, fast paced month of August, thanks to back to school shoppers! September also flew by: getting last minute things ready for the baby, attending my baby shower and celebrating our three year wedding anniversary (and seven years together!). I worked full-time at my store up until two days before my due date. Now, I’m just waiting for this stubborn baby to come out while I’m officially on maternity leave!

any new symptoms your third trimester? Constantly feeling so blessed to have had such an easy pregnancy. I still never developed any nausea but, I have continued to have round ligament pain. I’ve also been popping Tums this third trimester like it’s my job (she better have lots of hair!!). I hate this term but, I have also experienced lightening crotch! Haha! It’s basically when you get a random shock in the pelvis area, it literally stops you in your tracks! During this third trimester, I have also had some back pain and developed the dreaded stretch marks.

have you had any pregnancy complications? The only red flag I have had has been high blood pressure. At my 37 week appt, they took my blood pressure three different times before it lowered to a normal rate and they let me leave. Then, at my 39 week appt, I had high blood pressure again. My third blood pressure reading that day was 138/90. So, I had to go get my blood drawn in the lab and I was sent home with a jug to pee in for the next 24 hours. At my 40 week appt, they reviewed my 24 hour urine test and blood results — luckily, I didn’t have any signs of pre-eclampsia.

have you taken any classes? I haven’t taken any hospital classes — when I went to book one they were seriously booked months and months in advance! I have taken the takingcarababies.com newborn class and learned so many great tips from: how to calm a fussy baby to setting a healthy sleep schedule. It was fun to watch each mini episode with Jared. It was a $74 but, well worth it!

when did you get your maternity pics taken? I got maternity/annual anniversary pictures taken when I was 34 weeks! After pictures, we ate at The Porcupine Grill and I felt my little babe hiccup, for the first time ever, while at dinner!

what non-pregnant people things are you excited for? first and foremost, a Jimmy Johns #17 sandwich “the porker”. I have been craving that sandwich my entire pregnancy! I’m also excited for Jared to quit treating me like I’m in a bubble — he won’t even let me ride a bike!

have you packed your hospital bag? Yes!! When I say I packed my hospital bag, I really mean I OVERpacked my hospital bag. Pretty sure I packed enough stuff to last me a week! I’ll do a blog post on my hospital bag list, soon!

any other noteworthy things happen in your third trimester? Jared felt the baby kick, for the first time ever, right at 28 weeks! I had to get a rhogam shot in my butt/hip area at my 30 wk appt due to having o- blood. I also had a lot of vivid dreams. One of my dreams was about cooking pasta and shrimp. When I went to peel the tails of the shrimp, I discovered I had also cooked a small dog and skinned it thinking it was a giant lobster. Talk about weird — it was the creepiest dream! The first time I was dilated was at my 39 wk appt (only a fingertip!).

I ended my second trimester blog post saying that we couldn’t wait for baby girl brewer to make her debut in October — let’s hope her debut is still in the month of October! We are getting anxious and impatient waiting to meet her! p.s. I’ve linked some things I packed in my hospital bag in the slider below!
