If there’s one thing I am totally “nerdy” about, it’s kitchen items. I could spend hours browsing all the different gadgets online. There are just so many! I rounded up my top 4 “go to” kitchen tools that I can’t live without. Putting these in your kitchen will make cooking in the kitchen a whole lot easier, whether you’re chopping, baking or mixing.
- ground meat chopper – Don’t you hate when you’re cooking meat and no matter how hard you try to evenly break up the meat pieces they are all different sizes? No more uneven clumps of meat with this baby! This simple tool makes breaking up meat a dream and it doesn’t damage your pan. I think every cook needs one of these handy tools in their kitchen! You can also use it for mashed potatoes, fruit, chopping eggs, etc. I totally love to cook meat now just so I can whip out this tool!
- garlic roller – I have tried pretty much every garlic tool ever made because, I’m a HUGE garlic lover! I’ve used everything from garlic presses to silicone garlic tubes. I spotted this garlic roller a couple years ago, and was excited to test it out. I have been sold ever since! It is extremely easy to use and chops garlic quickly. The top of the chopper opens up and you just pop one or two cloves inside. Then, you just roll it back and forth until your garlic is chopped to the size you want (you can do a coarse chop or do a fine mince depending on how much you roll it!). Open the lid back up and dump out your chopped garlic. It’s that easy and, the best part is, this tool is dishwasher safe. Can I get a hallelujah? Garlic forever. P.s. I have also used this roller to finely chop herbs like rosemary, cilantro and more!
- 5″ by 7″ cutting board – I used to hate whipping out my giant cutting board just to use a small corner of it, which is why this mini cutting board is so dang convenient! It is the perfect size to chop up veggies, cube potatoes, slice cheese and more. It has grippers on the bottom so that you can cut securely and the small size makes it so easy to store. When I purchased this I had absolutely no idea how often I’d use it, but it has quickly become my go to cutting board. I find myself using it close to a daily basis. I have loved it so much that I bought a second one to have on hand, just in case the other is dirty!
- kitchenaid mixer – KitchenAid mixers are pricy, but pricy isn’t always a bad thing. In this case, pricy means you are making a lifetime investment, as well as gaining a third hand in the kitchen. The opportunities are endless with this mixer. You can knead dough with the dough hook, whip egg whites with the whisk attachment and the obvious, mix endless amounts of cookie dough! There’s also the not so obvious capabilities like: shredding chicken, making guacamole, mixing up mashed potatoes and more! This will be an investment you won’t regret and it looks cute on the counter!

What are some of your favorite kitchen gadgets? Comment below! I’d love to check them out. I’m all about simplifying and making life easier in the kitchen!
These are all great and important kitchen tools. Thanks for the share
Hi Pearl! Glad you agree! I love them all!
I have two of the four mentioned. I want the garlic roller!
Which two do you have Linda? My mom first bought me my garlic roller! I love it so much! I had no idea how much I’d use it but, I love to use it to finely mince herbs and cilantro, too!
What are your favorite measuring cups and spoons? I need new ones and wanted to know what you suggest?
Hi Jen!! How are you? I haven’t seen you in forever! I like these — https://amzn.to/2CHoAPp
They are stainless steel, stack really nice and they have the measurements that never rub off. It’s a set of spoons and cups that match. I also have a set similar to that link that have silicone grips on the handles, but I don’t like them as much because they don’t stack very well.
Thank you for the ideas, I am always looking for new gadgets to add to my kitchen…even though my husband thinks I have too many already 😉
Haha!! Don’t husbands know that women can never have enough things? Whether it’s shoes, clothing or cooking supplies – we cannot get enough!!
Yes! Garlic roller is a life saver. And my mother still wonders why I don’t just buy minced garlic jarred. The difference from fresh to jar is Earth shattering. Duh. Lovely gadgets!
I’ve gotta admit — I do sometimes use the mince jarred garlic haha! PURELY for convenience when I haven’t made it to the grocery store! But, you’re right! fresh garlic is the best!
I need that garlic roller! I currently don’t have any tool to crush garlic at the moment, which is a shame because I love to cook & do it every single day!!

This one doesn’t crush it — it just rolls it and minces it finely or as big as you want it! You need it!!
Fun list! I’ve never heard of the ground meat chopper! I need one of those in my life!! Thanks for letting me know they exist!!
Oh my heck! It’s the best invention ever! In fact, I asked my husband what his fav kitchen tool was and he totally said the meat chopper! It’s a game changer!
I like your selection of tools especially the garlic roller – will definitely get myself one.
YESSS! Do it — you will love it! Let me know what you think!
I absolutely love my big kitchenaid mixer! It’s one of the first kitchen items I ever bought for myself over 10 years ago!
Mine was sort of a wedding gift. We got a ninja blender and I knew we would never use it — so we returned it and got credit to put towards a KitchenAid! Best decision ever. I love it so much!
My Kitchenmaid mixer is my FAVORITE kitchen tool because it is so versatile. My second is my dutch oven which is perfect for winter soups!
I totally need to invest in a dutch oven! What brand do you use? I have been researching the Le Crueset brand — they look so nice!
I love my kitchen aid as well. Have never heard of meet chopper, but sounds like great gadget so will defiantly be checking it out.
Yes, for sure check it out! It’s a dream. You will love it!
I am obsessed with my ground meat chopper! It’s so easy to use and really separates and mixes up burger meat. I’ve never heard of a garlic roller but would love to try one!
I can’t believe I hadn’t used a meat chopper my whole life — greatest invention ever, right?
These are great! Thanks so much for sharing, love getting opinions on more kitchen tools to add to my collection.
Glad you liked the post Julie! You can never add enough tools to your kitchen collection.
I’ve been wanting a kitchenaide mixer for so long! But I’ve definitely been put off by the price lol :/ This article just might be what convinces me otherwise.
Girl! Just be on the lookout for a deal. It is a pricy piece but you will keep it for 10 years or longer. I love it so much more than I thought I would! You will not regret it!
Oh dear, I only have the small chopping board as, like you, I hate getting out a large one just for something small! I love my slow cooker, and am currently after a spiraliser!
Right? It’s the worst getting out the huge chopping board! I have a spiralizer just from Walmart but, I’m wanting one to attach to my kitchen aid!
